The basement door has been left open a number of times recently – I know I’m not leaving it open and Wendy says she’s not leaving it open, and she has been getting really annoyed. She thinks I’ve been doing it to mess with her, and to try to get her to believe in my ‘supernatural nonsense’, so I came up with the idea of setting up the video camera to watch the door for a while. Wendy thought it was a ridiculous idea, of course – and why wouldn’t she? One of us has to be the one leaving the basement door open, because rationally, that’s the only thing that makes sense.
I set up the camera and plugged it in (the battery only lasts about an hour and I wanted it to record more than that), and then we just kind of went about our morning normally. Around midday we headed out for lunch and then hit a few stores and went to the movies – the camera was recording the whole time. When we got home, the basement door was closed and Wendy was only too happy to point that out, but I decided to watch the footage anyway – I don’t know why, I guess I just hate being proven wrong. Watch the video – it proved something, there’s no doubt about that.
